About Camp Kerry

Around the Camp

Camp Kerry offers an opportunity for young families to meet others in similar circumstances. Through this process we aim to foster a “community of belonging” which decreases isolation and increases hope & mutual understanding.

Participants also gain new tools and skills that assist them in coping with their grief.

Qualified counselors and specially trained volunteers  provide a variety of therapeutic and recreational programming including: music & art therapy, nature hikes, climbing wall, swimming, sports & games, yoga & relaxation, sharing circles, labyrinth meditations, campfires, and a candlelight memory service.

The retreat is held on a weekend in September at Keats Island Camp on the Sunshine Coast. The adventure begins in West Vancouver, where families board a charter boat for a one-hour ride through the breathtaking scenery of Howe Sound to Keats Island.

Camp Kerry is a place to:

    • Relax in the beauty of nature
    • Meet new friends
    • Play and have fun together as a family
    • Share thoughts, feelings & memories in a supportive environment
    • Discover strength, courage and healing...

Families stay in individual cabins with bunk beds and private washrooms. Delicious, home-cooked meals are provided in a central dining room.
